Rockford developer expands in Sterling, Illinois

Rockford, IL - First Midwest Group, the region's largest real estate developer, is expanding its footprint in the state.

First Midwest Group is investing approximately $2.5 million in Sterling, Illinois to develop a commercialuse property which will be able to house up to four or five businesses. Two companies have already confirmed their interest in the property with one of them being a bank looking to open around the end of the year.

Construction on this project, which will be over 12,000 square feet, is scheduled to begin on June 1st. Additional space will be available for future commercial tenants interested in opening a store front in the growing Sterling area.

First Midwest Group is headquartered in Rockford, Illinois but has been investing in the Sterling community for several years now. Since 2012, two other very successful business centers in Sterling were developed by First Midwest Group. Businesses such as T-Mobile, Starbucks, K Jewelers, Buffalo Wild Wings and many others currently occupy the commercial space in the Sterling area developed by First Midwest Group.
